My thoughts
I have never been a big fan of Rimmel foundations but this one is a pleasant surprise however I’m unable to use it so often as the shade is a bit dark for me (not so detectable in the photos though). Classic Beige has more of the pink undertones than yellow so it seems somewhat dull on my complexion; Soft Beige would be a better match for my NC30 skin tone I believe. Like other Rimmel Foundations, I think this range too lack shades for very fair, yellow toned or women of color which may well keep you from trying it out.

Back to the foundation. Texture wise, it reminds me of Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation which was my go-to winter foundation last year. I think Lasting Finish is tad more moisturizing than Healthy Mix therefore it doesn’t highlight any dry spots on my face. Unlike Healthy Mix, it takes over a minute to completely adjust to the skin. Secondly, it’s not as light-weight in comparison to Healthy Mix but it’s not heavy either. You can apply and blend it with your fingers without any trouble or use a brush instead.

When initially applied, it gives a dewy base without being greasy which after a while sets to a semi-matte finish. The consistency isn’t runny or thick so it spreads out evenly and blends into the skin quite well without the mask-like effect. It provides a medium coverage which is buildable. I love how it leaves my skin looking youthful and glowing whilst concealing minor spots/blemishes. I’d like to mention here that it’s a water-based foundation with silicones which is why I noticed that it also makes my pores less visible. It doesn't break me out either.

As mentioned before, it doesn’t highlight any dryness neither does it settle in fine lines/creases. I use a translucent powder to set it up and it does holds up well throughout my working day without transferring or oxidizing which is amazing! With a primer underneath, I have no doubt it would last well up to good ten hours. I got this is in a tube form but previously I think it came in a bottle with a pump. The later would've been much comfortable to use I think. Clearly, I prefer this over Rimmel Match Perfection but the strong floral scent is one thing they share in common.

Overall, this one is a winner by Rimmel. In my opinion, this foundation is suitable for all skin types however it wouldn't be my pick for summer when I'm more into matte finish. If you're looking for a good on-the-budget foundation that offers medium coverage for daily wear, I'd surely suggest checking it out.

You might like it if...
  • You expect medium to buildable coverage
  • You have dry/normal/combination skin type
  • You expect easy blending
  • You expect a natural semi-matte finish
  • You're looking for aqua-based foundation
  • You expect it to be transfer-resistant
  • You expect a light-weight/non-greasy coverage
You might not like it if...
  • The strong floral scent bothers you
  • You're unable to find yourself a match
  • You have combination/oily skin and you use it in summer
