A woman can never have enough lipsticks, ain't that true? Having tried all sorts of lip colors, I keep coming back to pinks and nudes. These days, I am under the 'pink' lip color spell and today I am going to review Rimmel Lasting Finish Matte Lipstick by Kate in 102.

Shade 102 is a gorgeous blue toned pink with matte finish. I adore this color for it instantly adds life to my face when I’m feeling kinda lazy. In the swatch above, it may seem a bit pale but it doesn’t appear that way in real; it’s more deeper toned. Sometimes, I like to tone down the intensity with a nude lip gloss to get the perfect nude-pink pout that doesn’t wash me out. In my opinion, this one would compliment both neutral and smoky eyes.
The matte line by Kate offers only five shades at the moment but I’m confused about the numbers. Again, the shades haven’t been named. I couldn’t locate Shade 102 on Rimmel’s website instead I found 101 which seemed pretty much close to 102 so I assume 102 and 101 are the same thing. The lipstick itself isn’t entirely matte upon application which makes it easy to put on but after a minute or two, it does set to a soft matte finish. I am glad that it doesn’t tug or drag during application or highlight any lip lines. Not to mention, I love the fruity scent of this lipstick. The color pay off is very good similar to Kate’s regular Lasting Finish line however I could only achieve around three hours of even coverage before fading set in. It doesn’t fade evenly so watch out! This is one thing that really puts me off about Rimmel Lipsticks in general.
To sum it up, I am in love with this particular shade. Even though it doesn't have all matte lipstick properties, the pigmentation and ease of application is commendable.
