I love the ever so St. Ives apricot scrub and of course that was the only reason I wanted to try this one. Did it win my heart? Read below to find out.

Makeup Remover & Facial Cleanser
Gently removes make-up and cleanses skin. This cleanser effortlessly removes even the heaviest make-up while cleaning the skin.

Application
Moisten face with water. Dispense product onto fingertips and massage over face. Rinse with water. Avoid direct contact with eyes. In case of contact with eyes, flush thoroughly with water.

My thoughts
This product claims to be both makeup remover and a facial cleanser. Initially, I followed the instructions given on the tube and it did nothing at all to remove my makeup. Yes, I was disappointed because I am a big fan of St. Ives scrubs and masks so I had high hopes. The second time I used it my way. After spreading it onto my face, I used a cotton wool ball to wipe off and there was some success yet it doesn’t guarantee complete makeup removal.

To start off, it doesn’t lather but that’s something typical of almost every cream cleanser. The thing that really bothers me is that if I use it as a cleanser, it doesn’t get rinsed away with water as they say. It just smears the makeup around and sticks on like a glue to the skin. It has a thick creamy texture to it which leaves my skin greasy even after I wipe it off with towel hence I personally would not advise using it as a face cleanser. As a makeup remover, it does a pretty decent job IF used liberally nevertheless the thick consistency gets in the way of total makeup melt down so it basically fails to dissolve the heaviest makeup as it boasts. I think it should’ve been advertised as a mild soothing makeup remover which would best suit someone who wears minimal makeup or has a sensitive skin perhaps. It has a mild chamomile scent that doesn't bother me as it goes away after I wash my face with my regular face wash.

Overall, it’s not totally bad but nothing to write home about. It will only work if used with a cotton wool. The only plus to this is the price I believe. I will continue using until it's used up but I wouldn't repurchase.
