I had my eyes on this top coat for a while so I grabbed it soon as it got available. I'm very much fond of snakeskin pattern so I was extremely thrilled to try it out!

Even though I don't have my tips painted all the time, I truly enjoy different shades and finishes of nail polishes and it just makes me happy to look at my colored nails. As silly as it may sound, I've started taking better care of my nails because I need them to look nice and maintain a good shape for neat nail lacquer application. I hope I'm not the only one who does that, lol.
Anyway, Bourjois Python Top Coat does give you that amazing python skin effect but it took me some time before I figured out how to work with it which in fact is very easy if you know what not to do. The formula is thin, pigmented, applies smoothly and doesn't dry quickly which is a good thing in this case because you can sweep it across your nail multiple times without creating any streaks. The applicator is long, flat and coats evenly. I suggest doing a thin layer (not too thin) because a thicker one wouldn't crack so well; also it will create big cracks that may not resemble the snakeskin pattern at all.
As mentioned earlier, my initial attempts were a complete fail! I didn't know why it wasn't separating even though I was using a top coat to dry out the base color completely. I tried layering thick and thin but it was just not separating no matter what. I then used it without any top coat and voila! A beautiful pattern was created within minutes. So do NOT use any top coat over the base color as it will hinder the appearance of the crackling effect.
All in all, Python Top Coat is a great addition to my collection. I've also tried it over a golden glitter base and it looked spectacular!
