My thoughts
Before I begin to share my experience, I'd like to mention that this product has got lots of mixed reviews. To some it feels heavy/appears cakey, for others it is way too sheer to hide imperfections. Some find it greasy while some say it’s extremely drying. By and large, this product is suitable for normal to combination skin types, if you ask me. Yes, it’s not at all suitable for dry or very oily skin types.

For starters, this BB cream has a thick consistency so make sure you blend it out immediately before it dries up (it dries very quickly). I prefer buffing it into my skin with a flat-top kabuki instead of using my fingers for the reason that it turns into a streaky mess that way and also consumes more time to blend. I got it in Light which isn’t exactly a match for me - it’s more suitable for someone in NC20-25 range in MAC - but somehow it seems to match up with my skin tone after some time maybe because I only use a small amount. One big dot in each quadrant of my face and I’m done! It offers light to medium coverage whilst concealing minor spots and blemishes. In my case, it covers really well however it won’t cover up post-acne scars or heavy pigmentation which is something I don’t expect from a BB cream. It doesn’t have too much of a scent unlike Rimmel foundations which adds to the good points.

Now I was thinking it will make my face an oil slick (like most BB creams do) but to my surprise it didn’t. On initial application it feels semi-matte but I don’t think it will last long before it turns your face shiny especially if you live somewhere hot and humid. So in summer, don’t forget to dust over your regular setting powder to increase the wear and keep shine away. In winter, I definitely need to moisturize well before I use it because this BB cream does NOT spare dry patches. It’s so unforgiving that it clings onto every dry spot on my face which proves how it fails to fulfill its moisturizing claim – it does hydrate though. It minimizes pores, feels light and comfortable on my skin. Not to mention, it hasn’t broken me out yet plus it also has SPF 25 which is a bonus. The packaging is clean. It comes in a 30ml plastic tube with a screw cap. The amount is pretty good for the price I believe.

Now to the major drawback. Like most BB creams, it comes in very limited number of shades. You might have to mix two shades together to get your perfect match but that’s definitely not an easy task if you’re in a hurry. Also, some people complain about the undertone. In case you're wondering, this one is neutral. So if you get a chance, do try out the testers to see if it suits you.

To sum up, it’s an affordable BB cream and good for when you don't feel like wearing a foundation however the shade range is disappointing. It does a pretty good job at evening out my skin tone without being unnatural which totally depends on the application. For best results, moisturize first, use a flat-top kabuki to apply and blend and you’re good to go!

You might like it if...
  • You have normal/combination skin type

  • You expect it to minimize pores
  • If expect it to be unscented

You might not like it if...
  • You have a dry skin type
  • You have an oily skin and you don't set it (in summer)
  • You can't find yourself a match
  • It clings onto dry patches on your face
