My thoughts
These jelly balms really are amazing! I’ve tried a couple of lip balms and petroleum jellies including Vaseline, lip butters and Pout Polish but none of them would keep my lips conditioned for good length of time until I met these.

I totally adore both the shades. Savory is a lovely mustard and Plush is a gorgeous bubblegum pink; both the shades give a hint of color to the lips. At first I thought they might not show up at all on my pigmented lips but they do (if built twice) however don't expect getting the same intense color on your lips as visible in the jar. They give my lips a creamy sort of sheen with a sheer wash of color. The faint sugary aroma sans taste is another plus point.

What do I think of them? Besides the pretty tint, they keep my lips moisturized for a good amount of time. They have a thick consistency which is why they have a nice grip on the lips. To some, the thick texture might be a downside because it can feel somewhat sticky and heavy on the lip but I personally am not bothered by it. I don’t see my lips getting flakey or dry when I’m using these and I also noticed that they smooth out my lip lines. The sheen remains for an hour before it fades but my lips feel hydrated for two and a half hours at the most. These jelly balms come in a plain glass jar with a lid that locks firmly. It’s easy to carry them around in your purse but make sure to keep away from direct sunlight or they may perhaps melt down and get messy.

All in all, Hip Jelly Balm is something worth getting for the price. I could say it’s one of the best lip conditioning products I have tried so far. If you prefer stick balms, you might not feel pulled towards them. As for me, I’d soon be hitting pan on these.

You might like it if…
  • You’re looking for a good lip conditioning product
  • You fancy the light/natural tint it gives to your lips
  • You expect a good wear time
  • You don’t mind the thick texture
  • You find it affordable
You might not like it if…
  • The thick texture bothers you
  • You expect intense pigmentation
  • You would like your lip balm to have SPF
